Maps and Directions

The Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World (DiSSGeA) is divided in three research centres and one academic centre.

The Department buildings/centres are located right in the heart of Padua and accessible on foot in just a few minutes from the main town reference points ("Piazze", Palazzo del Bo', Caffè Pedrocchi, Giardini dell'Arena and Cappella degli Scrovegni, Basilica del Santo, Cathedral).

From Venice Marco Polo Airport you can catch a bus from the bus stops in front of the airport and get off at Padua bus station. Alternatively a collective taxi service is available (air service) which can take you anywhere in Padua. The Department administrative offices are based in the Luzzato Dina Building, the main visitors' entrance is on via del Vescovado, at number 30. The porters office is directly to your left as you enter the main door on the street.

How to reach the Department Administrative Offices
Pass the main entrance door on Via del Vescovado, reach the inner court and turn left. Take the door on your left hand side, offices are on the first floor.

How to reach the Department Teaching Courses Administrative Office and Doctorate Administrative Office
Pass the main entrance door on Via del Vescovado, reach the inner court and turn to the right. You will notice a two-story building, that is called Palazzo Jonoch Gulinelli. Enter the building, Offices are on the ground floor, from the entance, take the doors to your left hand side.

How to reach the main Lecture Theatres
Most lecture theatres are located in the Luzzato Dina Building. See the Lecture theatres page for more details.

For visitors with a disability
All rooms in the Luzzato Dina building (including all lecture theatres) are accessible to individuals unable to use stairs. If you know in advance that you will be visiting the building and have access difficulties, please call us on +39 049 827 8563 and we will make arrangements to meet you. Alternatively, you can contact the porters, on the left from the main entrance door, who will be able to show you to your destination. As to access the library at the Luzzato Dina building, please call us on +39 049 827 8519 and we will meet in the court and show you the way to the elevator. One elevator is accessible directly from the inner court.
