Selection criteria

The Summer School is open to 25 international students who will be evaluated and admitted on a competitive basis.
The School Directors will award a participation grant to 12 participants.
Students wishing to apply for a scholarship must state so in their motivation letter or when submitting their application folder.

The School general submission deadline has been extended to July 7th 2016.

Each eligible applicant will be evaluated according to three criteria: academic potential; experience in the Summer School topics;  personal motivation.

Each criterion is assigned a score on a scale of 1-5 (5 = Very good, 4 = Good, 3 = Good, 2 = fair, 1 = poor). Evaluation of an eligible application stops if a criterion is assessed at less than 3.
The criteria are specified as follows: academic Excellence (50%); experience in the topic (30%); personal motivation (20%).
The documents to be submitted for this purpose are: the curriculum Vitae; a clear reference to the candidate's academic qualifications; a short motivation letter, stating the candidate’s interest in participating in the Summer School (eventually including an abstract of a project / proposal of max 250 words).

All such documents can be presented in English, French or Italian.

Criteria are weighted as specified in the table below.
