ItWikiCon 2024

The Department will host the 2024 edition of ItWikiCon, the annual meeting of Italian-speaking Wikipedia volunteers, organised in collaboration with Wikimedia Italia. Around a hundred participants are expected to attend the three days of meetings and discussions on various topics, ranging from Wikipedia’s relationship with schools, universities, and cultural institutions, to the impact of artificial intelligence on writing, to the current legislation on reproducing cultural heritage, in light of the updates introduced by the Ministerial Decree 108/2024.

As usual, ItWikiCon is also an opportunity to explore the host city through guided tours, including photography workshops, at some of Padua cultural landmarks. The event will end on Sunday, 29^th September, with a guided tour of the University of Padua Botanical Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an "editathon" on the theme of biodiversity, open to the public and organised as part of the Science4All event.
