Abstract:

The purpose of the project is to survey and critically analyse all the Greek books in codex form kept in Italian libraries from the oldest examples to the 9th century. The CGA project's work will be organised on a geographical basis. It will focus primarily on material kept in Italy on the basis of a subdivision into three areas (northern Italy, central Italy including the Vatican City and southern Italy) each of which will be assigned to a competent research unit (Padua, Rome and Bari respectively) with inevitable and fertile interlinking and cross fertilisation between units. The work plan can be viewed on the following link.
