Why the Shoah: Giovanni Gozzini's lectio magistralis - Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Siena

In the presence of the Rector, Professor Rosario Rizzuto, on the 29th of January at 9.30 am the University of Padua will host a lecture by Giovanni Gozzini, professor of Contemporary history at the University of Siena and author of "The Road to Auschwitz. Documents and interpretations on the Nazi extermination". During the morning, organized by the University Centre for the History of the Resistance, some footage shot by the Allies during the liberation of the concentration and extermination camps will be commented and discussed. Finally, the work Rail 1 : 6,000,000, donated to the University of Padova by the artist Marco Chiurato will be presented to the public. The painting will then be shown at the Library of the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World.
